Getting started.
HerdMaster is a rabbitry and cavy management app for serious breeders: pedigrees, breeding records, litters, show tracking, and sales in one place. Built by a 45-year ARBA breeder and Best in Show winner, for breeders who take their programs seriously.
iPhone, on iOS 17 or newer. iPad support is planned for a later phase.
Most likely: download at launch, create an account, your data syncs to your own iCloud, then you add or import your herd.
Yes, and it's the full app, not a time-limited trial. The free tier is capped (shown as up to 10 animals, plus limits on customers, sale records, and recurring orders) and includes free Evans import so you can bring your herd in before deciding to upgrade.
ARBA members save 10% with a member code. 4-H and FFA youth get free rabbit and cavy access.
Imports & migration.
Evans XML (the lead path), OCR pedigree scan from paper, Evans PDF (text-based V15), Everbreed Share Link, Everbreed Litters CSV, Evans XPEDX / HTM as fallbacks, and manual entry.
An Evans XML import brings animals, winnings, and litters across in one pass and fills the full 4-generation pedigree tree, so you're not retyping ancestors.
Yes. Photograph the pedigree, or use a text or scanned PDF, JPG, or PNG, and OCR pulls it into a 4-generation pedigree for you to review and confirm. It's "scan and confirm," not automatic, so you check it before saving.
No. Every import checks for duplicates before saving, and a failed import rolls back cleanly, so your existing records are never touched.
Offline & iCloud privacy.
Yes. HerdMaster is offline-first: your records live on your device and work with no connection, syncing when you're back online.
In your own iCloud account, through Apple's CloudKit. HerdMaster does not store your herd records on a company server and cannot see your rabbitry data.
None. No ads and no QR-code clutter.
Your data stays in your own iCloud and you revert to the free-tier limits for adding new records.
Your records live only in your own iCloud, never on a HerdMaster server, so there's nothing on our side to delete. You stay in full control: manage or remove them through your own iCloud. If you joined our email list, you can ask us to remove you any time at support@herdmaster.app.
Features & breeds.
ARBA show breeds for both rabbits and cavies: 53 rabbit and 13 cavy breeds.
Yes, both rabbits and cavies.
Pedigrees view as 4-generation trees on screen, and you can print or share them as a PDF.
Platform & future.
An iPhone on iOS 17 or newer.
The iPhone (iOS) app is our initial launch, targeted for Q2 2026, with an Android version targeted for Q2 2027 or sooner. There's no web version planned at this time.
iPad support is targeted for Q3 or early Q4 2026, after the initial iPhone launch.
Billing & support.
A free tier, then Breeder ($7.99/mo, $79.99/yr, $249.99 lifetime), Show Breeder ($9.99/mo, $99.99/yr, $299.99 lifetime), and Pro ($14.99/mo, $129.99/yr, $349.99 lifetime). Every paid tier offers monthly, annual, or one-time lifetime.
There's a free tier rather than a trial, capped but with no time limit, so you can use HerdMaster free for as long as you like within the caps.
You send payment requests through Venmo or PayPal and record the status yourself. HerdMaster does not process cards in-app.
Standard App Store subscription management from Settings on your iPhone; you keep access through the end of the current billing period.
